Adopted by VW and known for performance, technology and sleek aesthetics, Audi builds cars that feel properly premium whether it's an A1 or an R8. The only catch with all that clever kit is the sheer number of modules, and an A4 or A5 steering lock has been known to throw a strop on a cold morning.

Common Audi electronic repairs
- Electronic steering lock (ELV) failure on A4 B8, A5 8T and Q5 8R

Audi questions
Can you make a new Audi key if I've lost all of them?
In most cases, yes. We can supply, cut and programme a new key and deactivate the lost ones, though newer models can need extra steps. Send AutoECU your registration and we'll confirm what's needed.
My Audi A4 or A5 says 'steering lock fault' and won't start. What can I do?
This is a well-known electronic steering lock (ELV) issue on the B8-era A4, A5 and Q5. It can often be fixed by repairing or replacing and coding the lock rather than going to the dealer. Get in touch with AutoECU and we'll talk you through the options.
Can you activate hidden features on my Audi?
Many Audis have features that can be switched on or retrofitted with coding, from lighting tweaks to CarPlay and Virtual Cockpit. What's possible depends on the model, year and fitted hardware, so message AutoECU with your reg and wish list.
