Land Rover builds cars that will happily wade a river, tow a horsebox and still look smart outside the posh restaurant. They are also packed with clever electronics, which means the odd Range Rover will occasionally sulk, flash a message or decide it has never met its own key before.

Older setups; the remote and the immobiliser are often matched separately, so tell us which bit has stopped working.
Remote flip key
Freelander 2, Discovery 3, Range Rover Sport L320 (early)
Folding blade with remote buttons; worn buttons and broken flip mechanisms are very common and usually repairable.
Smart proximity key (5-button)
Range Rover L322 (later), L405, Sport L494, Evoque L538, Discovery 4, Discovery Sport
Keyless entry and push-button start; a flat key battery is a classic cause of 'Key not found'.
Smart key with emergency blade (latest style)
Range Rover L460, Sport L461, Defender L663, Discovery 5, Velar, Evoque L551
Newer platforms need up-to-date equipment and security access for key adding and all-keys-lost jobs.

Waterproof band so the main key can be locked inside; it needs to be paired to the car like any other key.

Why does my Land Rover say 'Key not found'?
The usual suspects are a flat key battery, a faulty keyless antenna or interference near the car, and occasionally a module that has lost the key data. Try holding the key against the marked backup spot on the steering column first. If that doesn't do it, give AutoECU a call and we'll diagnose it properly.
Can I get a spare Range Rover key without going to the dealer?
Yes, in most cases we can supply and programme a spare smart key for Range Rover, Sport, Velar and Evoque models, including newer platforms. You'll need proof of ownership. Get in touch with AutoECU with your registration and we'll confirm what's needed.
Can you retrofit a reversing camera to my Discovery or Range Rover?
Often yes, as many Land Rovers can be retrofitted with cameras and then coded so the screen shows the image properly. What's possible depends on the model, year and infotainment system. Send AutoECU your details and we'll tell you what's doable.
